Southwest Smile Makers Dental Clinic

Southwest Smile Makers Dental Clinic is based out of San Juan Basin Health Department.  Founded in 2002, the clinic serves the 5-county area, providing preventive dental services for Medicaid-eligible children 0-21 years and pregnant women. Services include screening, cleaning, fluoride treatment, and sealants. Each school year, Southwest Smile Makers provides these services at all the Durango 9R and Cortez elementary schools.

Since January 2006, SouthWest Smile Makers also runs a mobile restorative clinic that travels between Cortez, Durango, and Pagosa Springs.  The restorative program is open to any child ages 3-21 with Medicaid or cash payments.
