Four Corners Caregiving Summit August 6-7
The 2009 Four Corners Caregiving Summit will be in Ignacio, Colorado on August 6th and 7th, 2009. This summit is an educational event for family caregivers, students and professionals interested in caregiving issues. Nationally known speaker Wendy Lustbader will be the keynote speaker. Lustbader’s books include What’s Worth Knowing and Counting on Kindness.
August 7th will be devoted to a variety of workshops, including: Finding Financial Help; Working with the Difficult Behaviors of Alzheimer’s; Caregiving and End of Life Issues; Depression; Finding Financial Help; Nutrition; Project Visibility; Stress and Caregiving; Training Family Caregivers; Understanding Memory Loss and Dementia; Benefits Assistance; and How to Talk with Your Doctor.
The conference represents collaboration among Tribes, States, and Area Agencies on Aging and local agencies to share and make caregiving resources available to residents of the Four Corners area. The Summit will be held at the Sky Ute Casino.
Conference registration fees are $40 for professionals, and $15 for persons 60 years and older, students, and caregivers. Conference scholarships are available for persons on restricted incomes. Meals and hotel are not included in the conference fees. Reduced hotel room rates are available.
