More Seasonal Flu Vaccine Available
As we enter the typical flu season, individuals who want the seasonal flu shot can receive one on Friday, December 4th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the San Juan Basin Health Department. No appointment needed.
Rocky Mountain HMO and Medicare insurance are accepted. Please bring your insurance cards with you. For other individuals, the seasonal flu shot costs $25.
Also offered at this clinic will be the Tdap (tetanus and whooping cough booster) and pneumonia immunizations. This Flu Protection Plus program enables adults receiving the flu shot to also catch up on recommended vaccines. The cost for these vaccinations is just $14.70 for anyone, thanks to funding received by San Juan Basin Health through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Individuals in one of the H1N1 priority groups who have still not received an H1N1 vaccination can also receive their free vaccination at this clinic. The following are eligible: youth 24 years old and younger; individuals up to age 64 with chronic health conditions; pregnant women; and parents, siblings or daycare providers of babies under six months old.
