Injury Prevention Coalition
This coalition has existed since 1999 and seeks to enhance education and public awareness about many aspects of injury prevention, and offer programs and activities to decrease injury risks. It promotes safety for individuals of all ages, children through seniors; and in varied settings such as the workplace and outdoors.
The current project, "Focus on Your Drive: Arrive Alive" seeks to decrease the incidence of distracted driving in La Plata County by increasing community awareness and education, and offering information about ways to reduce risks. The coalition has created a 9 minute DVD, removable window clings, and informational rack cards which are used in educational presentations.
