This coalition has existed since 1999 and seeks to enhance education and public awareness about many aspects of injury prevention, and offer programs and activities to decrease injury risks.
It promotes safety for individuals of all ages, children through seniors; and in varied settings such as the workplace and outdoors.
In the past, the Injury Prevention Coalition coordinated “La Plata County Clicks” to promote seat belt use. It currently is working with senior fall prevention and traffic safety.
