Our Promotor provides free services to the Hispanic/Latino community who live in La Plata and Archuleta counties, focusing on the prevention and early detection of cancer, cardiovascular disease, and chronic pulmonary disease. San Juan Basin Health’s Promotores are bilingual, bicultural health educators, and advocates.
Free confidential services include:
- health screenings
- assistance with health insurance and doctors
- connections to appropriate health services
- referrals to a wide range of services
- platicas (health talks)
- cooking classes
- weight loss support
